The Pima County Fair is located at 11300 S. Houghton Rd., Tucson, AZ  85747.   The event takes place over an 11-day period, Noon – Midnight.  Approximately 240,000 people attended the Pima County Fair, April 2009.  With the projected growth of the Tucson metropolitan area, the Pima County Fair anticipates attendance numbers will grow accordingly.  The Pima County Fair has been one of Tucson’s largest annual and multi-day events for nearly 100 years.

The Pima County Fair is held on a 640-acre event complex and resides in a desert environment with mesquite, cacti and grass with an average event temperature of 80° F.   The facility includes 5 stage locations, 3 exhibit buildings, equestrian facilities, motorized event arena, 15-acre carnival midway and out door exhibit areas.   There are two paid parking entrances and one primary for paid, public admission.

Security for the event includes the Pima County Sheriff Department as the primary staffing.  In addition, private security is scheduled for special activities and events.  The Pima County Fair contracts parking security and guest services personnel on a full time basis throughout the year.

The Pima County Fair delivers high volume attendance by providing family fun with a large carnival and midway, entries, 4/H, over 400 vendors and nearly 600 performances.  Audiences are drawn by the affordable, quality entertainment including concerts, competitions, extreme sports, motorized and arena events.   Most events are free with low priced fair admission.

Daily promotions are created to reach various demographics through outreach and specific target audience marketing campaigns.  Area promotions are designed to take advantage of in-house foot traffic and visibility.  Target audiences include youth, senior, general and Hispanic markets.

2010 will deliver a new avenue to promote Arizona’s natural beauty, outdoor living, landscaping, gardening and the important topics of conservation and preservation.  Participation will include displays, speakers, contests and other related activities scheduled in Pima Hall, during the Pima County Fair.

The Pima County Fair will deliver an outreach tool for high touch, high profile, face-to-face value with opportunities for branding, sampling, information distribution and interactive displays.   Upper level partners are offered, “Presenting” or “Title” status, product exclusivity, drive to retail campaigns and media inclusion.

No matter the level of participation, the Pima County Fair is Southern Arizona’s most cost effective platform for mass event marketing of any target demographic.
