Will show on two (2) separate days.

Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the following order:

Toggenburg, Alpine, Nubian, Nigerian

Sunday, April 19, 2009 in the following order:

Saanen, Sable, LaMancha,  Oberhasli & Recorded Grade

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

These shows are sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association and their rules shall govern. 

The Junior and Senior Shows are separately sanctioned.  These shows are also open to all A.D.G.A., A.G.S., and C.G.S., registered does.  No AGS paperwork will be signed.

PREMIUMS:

Exhibitors will be eligible for two (2) premiums per class.  Premiums will be paid through 4th place as follows:  $35,  $30,  $25,  $20.  Udder classes will be paid as follows:  $6, $4, $2.

ENTRY FEES:

$6.00 PER ENTRY including group classes. NO REFUNDS! Entry fees MUST accompany entry forms and are payable to Pima County Fair. Entries must be postmarked by April 1, 2009. Please include your e-mail address or a  SASE if you want to receive verification of entries. We are not responsible for entries that do not arrive due to mail service.  Be sure and use zip code 85627.

ARRIVAL:

 Animals must be in place by 5:00 pm Thursday,  April 16, 2009 unless planning to do the one day milk test.  

CHECK-IN:

Wednesday, April 15, 2009       5:00 - 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 16, 2009           9:00 a.m. – noon, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m 

REGISTRATION PAPERS:

The original or stamped duplicate, issued by A.D.G.A., will be required for all does under 6 months of age.  The original registration paper is required for all other does.

HEALTH RULES:

Animals showing signs of disease will not be accepted!!  The decision of a licensed Veterinarian, along with the Barn Superintendent will be final.  Out of State exhibitors must obtain a permit to enter the state.  This can be obtained from the State Veterinarian’s office at 1688 W. Adams St. Phoenix, AZ  85007.  Telephone (602) 542-4293.  Obtain Health Certificate prior to requesting State Permit.

TATTOOS:

All animals must be tattooed prior to entering the ring.  Tattoos may be checked during one or more group classes at random in the Show Ring!!

PRE-SHOW MILK-OUT:

There will be no pre-show mild out.  Due to the large number of animals in the junior show we will not have a milk out.   

PENNING:

Please figure approximately 8 adults per pen and 10-12 kids per pen!!! Pen space is NOT provided for animals which are not entered in the show!!! NO BEDDING IS PROVIDED!! Hay, grain and straw will be available for purchase at the feed store on site.

CHECK OUT:

Exhibitors will be able to leave beginning Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 6:00 pm. Out of state exhibitors may leave as soon as premiums have been picked up.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL ANIMAL BEDDING MUST BE RAKED INTO AISLES PRIOR TO LEAVING FAIRGROUNDS AT 6:00 pm on SUNDAY.  EXHIBITOR MUST PAY A $5.00 CLEANING FEE PER PEN AT TIME OF CHECK IN, IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO RAKE.

PASSES:

Exhibitor passes will be available at the time of check-in. The cost is $10.00, 11-up, $3.00, 6-10, 5 and under free.

CAMP SPACES:

The cost is $8.50 per night. Make a separate check payable to PIMA COUNTY FAIR for your camp space. The spaces have electric and water.

ONE-DAY MILK TESTS:

Milk Test will be held In the Dairy Goat Barn. The first milk out will be Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 6:30 A.M. The second milk out will be Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 6:30 P.M. The third milk out will be Friday, April 17, 2009 at 6:30 A.M. The cost is $6.00 per animal. All fees due prior to the start of the first milk out!!
