OWNERSHIP DEADLINE:

December 13, 2008

The exhibitor must have a seasonal pass from the AZ Dept. of Ag and provide proof of ownership as per the Arizona State Livestock Board requirements.  Ownership and registration papers must be in the exhibitor’s name or proof of possession of same documents at the time of ear-gagging or registration. 

EAR TAGGING DATES:

December 7, 2008,   9:00 am – 12:00 pm

December 13, 2008, 7:00 am – 9:00 am

 

A $10.00 project fee benefiting the Market Goat Project will be charged at the time of ear tagging.  Goats must be ear tagged and tattooed, have hauling papers at the ear tagging and at fair check-in.  No rams will be ear tagged.  Testicles must be removed from the animal.  Each animal must have its own hauling paper.  Three (3) market goats may be ear tagged at this time per exhibitor, but only two (2) market goats may be brought onto the fairgrounds.  Goats must be dehorned prior to ear tagging.  A check for milk teeth will be conducted by 3 (certified) sheep/goat leaders.  No evidence of eruption of either of the two permanent front teeth.

CHECK-IN: & WEIGH-IN:

Monday, April 20, 2009    7:00 pm. - 9:00am & 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm.

MARKET SHOW:  Wednesday, April 22, 2009, following the Market Lamb Show.

Minimum Weight at Fair:  All Market Goats to weigh 70 lbs minimum. 

Maximum Pay Weight at Fair:  All Market Goats to maximum pay weight of 105 pounds.

TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR PROJECT. PLEASE CLEAN UP THE BLEACHER AREA AFTER YOUR SHOW.

SPECIAL RULES: 

A.      Classes will be divided by Project Director and Superintendent. 

B.       All market goats must be slick shorn at Fair weigh-in.

C.       The Meat Goat Show is open to all wether or doe kids that have all milk teeth and no evidence of eruption of either of two permanent front teeth.

D     At the time of animal arrival at the Livestock 

Barn, there will be a health check conducted by three (3) certified goat leaders.  These leaders will be designated by the Lamb/Goat Project Director and/or Superintendent.  Once the animal has been cleared and weighed it is considered acceptable for participation.
