OBSTACLE COURSE:

Friday, April 24, 2009 after showmanship.

TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR PROJECT.  PLEASE CLEAN UP THE BLEACHER AREA AFTER YOUR SHOW.

ELIGIBILITY AND OWNERSHIP:

  Member and animals must be actively enrolled in the alpaca project.

A.  Animal must be owned or leased by January 1 of the current 4-H year and shown only by that exhibitor.

B.  Animals must be checked in on Monday, April 20, 2009 and remain on the fairgrounds until check out time at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2009.

C.  Animals must be fed, watered and cleaned daily by the member or member’s club.

GENERAL SHOW RULES:

A.   Animals are to be shown with a halter and lead rope.  No tassels, pompoms or other removable decorations are permitted. 

B.  Nursing animals cannot be accompanied in the ring with their babies.

C.   Animals must be at least 6 months by fair check-in to be entered in the show.

D.  An exhibitor and animal may be dismissed from the ring if the exhibitor mistreats the animal.

E.  Exhibitor must be ready to enter ring when class is called.

F.  Only one animal per exhibitor allowed in the showmanship class and two animals for the obstacle course.

OBSTACLE COURSE RULES:

SPECIFIC RULES AND GUIDELINES WILL BE AVAILABLE PRIOR TO SHOW.

A.  Animals must make an attempt at each obstacle.  Three refusals and the animal must skip the obstacle.

B.  Animals going off course will be penalized.

C.  Coaching from outside the ring is not allowed and may compromise the exhibitor’s score.
