ENTRY:

 Open to all. Deadline is April 3, 2009.

ENTRY FEES:

$6.00 PER HEAD, PER PAIR/GROUP

ARRIVAL:

 Thursday, April 16, 2009       8:00a.m. to Noon

SHOW:

 Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 10:00 am.

BEDDING AND FEED:

Available at the feed store on site. FIRST BEDDING WILL NOT BE PROVIDED, but will be available for sale upon arrival.

PREMIUMS:

1st - $35, 2nd - $30, 3rd - $25,  4th - $20,  5th - $15, 6th - $10

NOTE: All pair and group classes will pay thru 4th place only.

HEALTH:

OUT OF STATE: Must have permit number from Arizona State Veterinarian, 1688 W. Adams, Phoenix, AZ  85007,  (602) 271-4293.  Permits must state breed, number of head, origin and destination.

IN STATE: Proper AZ hauling papers.

NOTE:

Animals showing signs of illness will not be accepted.

PENS:

Assigned by superintendent – posted in the sheep barn

PASSES:

Exhibitor passes may be purchased $10.00 for age 11 and up.  $3.00 for ages 6 – 10.  5 years and under are free.  Livestock gate on Brekke Rd. will honor credential passes only.  No tickets will be sold at this entrance.

RULES:

  1. All sheep must be registered in a recognized breed association.  Original registration papers Will be checked by Superintendent.
  2. Exhibitors may not receive more than two awards in any single lot, and no more than one award in any group lot.
  3. Animals in-group lots must be entered in their respective individual lots.
  4. Animals must be owned for sixty days prior to show date.

Identify breed on entry form.

  1. Cotswold
  2. Karakul
  3. Natural Colored Fine/Medium
  4. Natural Colored Long/Coarse

5.    All Other Breeds – Meat

6.    All Other Breeds - Wool                 

 

NOTE:  Four additional breed classes will be added and will be determined by entries received.  Classes will be divided or combined at the discretion of the superintendent depending on numbers entered.

CAMP SPACES

Available for $10.00 per space per night with water and electricity.  Wastewater must be contained.  Dump station is available on grounds.

EXEMPTIONS

Every animal entered for exhibit will be in the charge of the superintendent.  However, the superintendent, the Southwestern Fair Commission and its Board will be in no case responsible for any loss or damage which may occur.   Entries are made and accepted on this condition.

Out of State – Sunday, April 19, 2009   6 to 8 am.

In State –        Sunday, April 19, 2009   6 pm.

 

Animals must be removed from the barn no later than 7:30 pm April 19, 2009. 

 

NOTE:  All bedding MUST be moved to the aisles prior to departure on the 20th.

 

EXHIBITOR MAY PAY $0.50 PER PEN AT TIME OF CHECK-IN TO HAVE PENS CLEANED.
