Read and
Ride Program -Pima
County Fair, and Ray Cammack Shows push for literacy! Kids read
three books, complete a summary on the Read and Ride form and
receive a free carnival ride pass (good for 3 rides). There is a
limit of one Read and Ride Pass per child. Read and Ride forms have
been mailed to school libraries, school districts and can be emailed
or mailed upon request. Read and Ride forms are also available at
all Pima County Libraries. For more information, please visit

Pima
County Fair Super Student Program
- To recognize students, K-12
who go the extra mile by making the Student of the Week/Month,
and/or perfect attendance second semester. The
program is also for students who have made behavioral modifications
and/or efforts to improve grades. Honored students only
will receive free admission to the fair, parents and siblings are
not included in the promotion. Requests must come from the School
Counselor and be signed by the school Principal. On school
letterhead, fax request for Student Honors Program to Attn:
Super Student Program 762-5005. Deadline:
April 1, 2009.

Performer Program -
Students of all ages and
skill levels are provided an opportunity to perform before a paying
audience at an outdoor venue, with experienced professional sound,
light and stage technicians. Contact Launa Rabago x 762-9100

Pima
County Fair Field Trip Program
– Field trips are free but
require pre-registration. On school letterhead, fax a written
request for Student Field Trip Application to Attn: Field
Trips: 762-5005. Deadline: April 1, 2009.
FIELD TRIP ACTIVITIES:
4-H and
animal barns -
Learn about agriculture and animal
husbandry. For more information, contact Bob Peterson at the 4-H
Extension office, 626-5161.
Interactive Science Center for Kids – located in Old
Pueblo Hall and open during regular building hours. Includes a
physics center, appropriate for ages K – 8th grade. Open
during Old Pueblo Hall hours.
Agricultural Center for Kids – located in Old Pueblo
Hall. Appropriate for ages 2 – 10. Children can pick “produce
grown” on the Farm, “milk” a “cow”, and climb on the tractor. The
agriculture center provides children the opportunity to experience
agriculture in a fun and educational experience. Open during Old
Pueblo Hall hours.
World
Vision Experience: AIDS.
An interactive, walk through exhibit designed to raise
awareness about the affects of the international AIDS pandemic on
children in developing countries. The exhibit profiles 4 real
children and is inspired by their own, real experiences. This
exhibit has been on display in churches, schools and other venues
across the country and is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Parents
and teachers can preview the exhibit at,
www.worldvisionexperience.org, prior to visiting the exhibit.
Located in Pima Hall, noon – 9:00.
